The Office of Fair Trading has called for representations about whether it should investigate Trinity Mirror's acquisition of Guardian Media Group's regional newspapers, including the Manchester Evening News, the Greenslade blog reports.
Among the factors the OFT will have to consider is whether the deal may be expected to result in a substantial lessening of competition that warrants reference to the Competition Commission for investigation and report.
