The Sun today features the clever away the Swindon Advertiser got round the ban by Southampton Football Club on its photographers covering the match against Swindon Town — by using Subbuteo.
The Sun has run a story in the paper describing the move to use the Subbuteo figures to depict the action as "finger-flickin' good!". It has also put the Advertiser's Subbuteo pictures online.
The story gives the Sun another chance to give Southampton - which it refers to only as "South Coast Club" - another kicking: "A once-proud South Coast Club have stopped local and national newspaper photographers attending home games. The ludicrous decision by executive chairman Nicola Cortese has led to SunSport refusing to name them."
