Media journalist Patrick Smith has been signed up as the first editor for the new b2b business venture, Briefing Media Ltd, being launched by Neil Thackray and Rory Brown.
Patrick said: "I am going to be the editor of Neil and Roy's first site. I am also involved in other editorial aspects of the business, including paid-for research reports. We are going to be offering something different and very useful to professionals."
Patrick specialises in media, technology and journalism. Until December 2009 he was the UK correspondent for ContentNext, the Guardian News & Media-owned publisher of paidContent:UK and paidContent.org. Before that he was the newspapers correspondent for Press Gazette.
He also works part-time on events, PR and marketing at the Frontline Club and has his own blog. Patrick will start out part-time with Briefing Media Ltd and continue some freelance work.
Briefing Media Ltd. has promised to bring a new approach to serving business to business markets but is not going public yet on what sectors it will be covering.
