According to journalistedthe News of the World phone-hacking allegations have had little media coverage compared to stories about Tony Blair, William Hague, the Milliband brothers and the cricket betting scandal. It says of 65 articles about the News of the World, 68% were in one of four outlets (the Guardian, the BBC, the Independent and the Financial Times). Only 2 were published by news outlets owned by News International.
I am a freelance journalist based in the UK and was deputy editor of Press Gazette, the journalists' magazine, from 1993 until 2006. I want to give an independent view on media matters.
