Mark Watts elected to NUJ London freelance post

Mark Watts, who was one of the unsuccessful candidates for the post of editor of the NUJ magazine The Journalist, tells me he has been elected to a union post.
He reports that he was elected unanimously onto the committee of the London Freelance Branch last night as the branch’s negotiations officer jointly with Phil Sutcliffe, who is on the NUJ's National Executive.
Watts caused something of a rumpus during The Journalist hustings by accusing the NUJ Left group of trying to takeover the union. He has held a union post before, FoC at the Sunday Business.
