Charles Moore to BBC: 'Can pay, won't pay'
Charles Moore in his Telegraph column today has again said he won't pay his BBC licence fee while Jonathan Ross is employed by the corporation.
The former editor of the Daily Telegraph has consistently said he will not pay the £142.50 fee since the "Sachsgate" row over the obscene phone message left by Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand on the actor Andrew Sach's answerphone.
Moore reveals today that he has been told that his licence expires on July 31 but is adamant he will not pay unless the BBC terminates Ross's contract.
Moore adds: "Apparently, the corporation has a policy of not allowing airtime to people who will not pay the licence fee. As I write, I am booked to appear on Any Questions? on August 7. If my name is erased from the programme, I shall know that trouble is afoot."
