Former Sunday Times editor Andrew Neil did not pull his punches when discussing the Guardian's allegations of the use of phone hacking by the News of the World on BBC 2's Newsnight.
Neil said his former employer, News International, would be "terrified" by the Guardian's allegations and said if NI was a US company it would be facing a multi-million dollar group lawsuit from the victims of phone hacking.
He described the News of the World as having a "newsroom out of control". Neil also said the first question an editor asked when given a successful scoop was "how did you get it?"
