At last there's a local newspaper story to rival the Whitstable Times' classic "Whitstable woman runs out of custard" for excitement.
This time it's the story, and exclusive picture, of a dead fish headlined: "Exhaustion blamed for Hertford fish death"
According to the East Herts Herald: "EXHAUSTION is the most likely cause of death of a large fish in the River Lee, in Hertford, experts have claimed. The chub was spotted floating on the surface of the river, at the end of Mill Road on Thursday. An onlooker said: "I was walking across the bridge and I saw this massive fish, I think it's a chub. It looked like it had died recently because it was not showing any signs of damage or decay. It's a shame."

Hi!
This is Federico, a part time editorial assistant at Penguin Books in London. We are publishing a book on slow-news headlines and I am trying to find the article with that glorious headline related to exhaustion and the death of a large fish. Could you possibly give me any more information, especially the name of the newspaper? Any information would be great, thank you! You can email me at federico.andornino@uk.penguingroup.com
If you are interested in more news regarding the book read an article here: http://www.thebookseller.com/news/penguin-publish-slow-news-title.html
Thank you!
