Ofcom has upheld complaints against Jon Gaunt for calling a councillor a 'Nazi' on air when he was employed by TALKSport.
Ofcom found that Gaunt had breached the broadcasting code in an interview with the councillor, Michael Stark, on the policy of Redbridge Council to ban smokers from fostering children. It said the offensive language used and the way the councillor was treated had the potential to offend listeners.
Gaunt was subsequently suspended over the interview and then fired by TALKSport. The Sun columnist now hosts a show for the paper's new internet station SunTalk.
