As well as producing local website Islington Now, which I mentioned yesterday, City University journalism students have also launched the Hackney Post covering the East London borough.
Stories on the site range from an exclusive on a Hackney local caught up in the Chile earthquake to a twin headed baby skeleton sold by a shop of horrors to Jane Goldman, aka Mrs Jonathan Ross, plus news of a knitting group in Dalston.The Islington and Hackney sites are run by two groups from the same City MA journalism class which should lead to some intense competition for stories, as well as being an interesting experiment in online hyperlocal journalism.
