Apologies at the weekend by the Sunday Times and News of the World to Frances Osborne, the wife of the shadow chancellor, after they repeated false allegations about her from the Downing Street "smear emails" have resolved her complaint to the Press Complaints Commission, MediaGuardian reports today.
Frances Osborne had complained to the PCC under the accuracy code, and claimed: "Although acknowledged as untrue, these false and damaging allegations were nonetheless gratuitously repeated and insufficient care was taken to make clear that they were unfounded."
