Financial Times to cut 20 journalists' jobs

Press Gazette is reporting today that the Financial Times is to make 20 journalists' posts redundant - as part of a total reduction in staff of 80 - and is blaming the effects of the economic downturn.
Press Gazette says it understands that there have been 11 volunteers for redundancy in editorial and that the company anticipates it may make a further nine journalists compulsorily redundant.
The Financial Times' circulation of 435,319 in December is seen as holding up well as demand for business news increases during the economic crisis.
