Why the nationals snubbed Sally Murrer

GuardianMedia on the press columnist Peter Wilby gives his view today of why the nationals ignored Sally Murrer's court case while giving Damian Green front page treatment. He writes: "Sally Murrer was bugged, locked up, strip-searched and eventually charged (as Green may be) with aiding and abetting misconduct in a public office. A judge threw the case out.
"Why was this not worth big headlines? Because Murrer worked for the Milton Keynes Citizen and, as far as the nationals are concerned, there's nothing so unimportant as a local paper."
Sally Murrer has praised the support she has had from fellow journalists.
