Tabloids were right on Karen Matthews

The national tabloids came in for a barrage of criticism for the way they delved into the private life of Karen Matthews after her daughter Channon was reported missing. Now she has been convicted of kidnapping her daughter I don't suppose the tabloids will be getting any apologies from those high minded columnists who accused them of being anti-Karen Matthews because she was poor and working class. They were quick to contrast this with the more sympathetic treatment given to the middle class McCanns over missing Madeleine. Maybe the tabloids had more of a gut feeling about the case because their reporters, and those from the news agencies, are out on the doorstep rather than drawing conclusions from their London living rooms.
