Stirring it up in Brum: 'Post will go weekly'

Brum news site the Stirrer reckons that Trinity Mirror has taken the decision to switch the Birmingham Post to a weekly - possibly from November 5 - and to print the Birmingham Mail overnight.
It reports: "Expect fireworks from newspaper publisher Trinity Mirror in the next 24 hours, with confirmation that the Birmingham Post is going weekly Add Image– possibly as early as November 5.
"Newshounds at both the Post and Mail were advised in a series of meetings last week that major changes on both titles are imminent, with the Post’s inevitable switch from a daily to a weekly due to be confirmed.
"Staffers have a deadline of December 31 to achieve the change, but it will happen earlier if possible – with Bonfire Night now looking a distinct possibility.
"Journos have been told the relaunch will take place in “early to mid-November” – making the final daily production of the Post likely on either October 30 or November 6.
"Our hunch is that it will be the last Friday in October, in line with the recent prediction on The Stirrer Forum by well-informed blogger Nation of Ulysses.
"The Birmingham Mail is also moving to overnight production, thus ending the tradition of “live”, on the day reporting."
