New media awards launched by TheMediaBriefing

Online media industry website TheMediaBriefing is launching the British Media Awards.

They are claimed to be the first pan-industry media awards celebrating modern news, information and entertainment publishing and designed to reward and recognise innovation and ingenuity from titles, people, teams and projects across the UK media.

The awards will take place at Arsenal FC’s Emirates Stadium in London on April 26th.

TheMediaBriefing says the awards will highlight how media business managers are solving the big questions affecting the media industry both online and offline, such as how to charge for content? What to do with new platforms for content distribution? How to use the explosion in social marketing and social communities? How to reinvigorate the old media brands and formats? How to create new organisation and cost structures to meet the needs of this new media age?

The awards categories include Overall Media Innovation of the Year; Social Media Marketing Innovation; Paid Content Innovation; Online Advertising Innovation; Best use of Mobile; Most Innovative New Technology for Media Owners; B2B Innovator of the Year; Consumer Magazine Innovator of the Year; Newspaper Innovator of the Year; Broadcast Industry Innovator of the Year; Digital Media Innovator of the Year; Marketing Innovator of the Year; Commercial Team of the Year; Media Innovator of the year; and Media Company of the Year.
