Former Northern Echo editor Peter Sands who has become one of the country's top editorial training and design specialists has launched a blog for his consultancy, Sands Media Services.
After leaving the Echo, Peter bought the former Westminster Press training centre in Hastings in 1995. He built up the Editorial Centre into a highly successful training and design business which he sold to PA in 2008.
Peter is a former director of Press Association Training and chairman of the judges in the Regional Press Awards.
He has redesigned 80 newspapers and magazines and his blog keeps a sharp eye on developments in journalism. Peter is also a Bob Dylan fan.
I am a freelance journalist based in the UK and was deputy editor of Press Gazette, the journalists' magazine, from 1993 until 2006. I want to give an independent view on media matters.
