The NUJ's London Photographers’ Branch is holding a pre-election rally- 'Hostile Reconnaissance' - on Terror Laws, Civil Liberties & Press Freedom at 7pm on the 13th of April at Friends Meeting House in Euston.
Speakers include Observer columnist Henry Porter; Guardian journalist and British Press Awards Reporter of the Year Paul Lewis; photojournalist and one of the organisers of I'm a Photographer Not a Terrorist! Marc Vallee; filmaker Pennie Quinton; Bonfire of the Liberties author Keith Ewing, professor of Public Law at King’s College London; and lawyer Chez Cotton of Bindmans Solicitors.
I am a freelance journalist based in the UK and was deputy editor of Press Gazette, the journalists' magazine, from 1993 until 2006. I want to give an independent view on media matters.
