Guardian Media Group to sell MEN to Trinity?

North West media news website How-Do is claiming today that Guardian Media Group is believed to be in talks to sell the Manchester Evening News to Trinity Mirror.
It is being suggested that GMG Regional Media is to be sold off in a bid to save jobs and continue with the Scott Trust's overarching objective of protecting the interests of the Guardian.
How-Do says a figure of £40m has been mooted for the sale but says its report is not confirmed by GMG or Trinity.
Although I picked this up from How-Do it has been pointed out the Daily Telegraph is running a much more comprehensive story today about the possible sale of GMG Regional Media.
The Telegraph quotes a source saying: "GMG and The Scott Trust, which was set up to safeguard journalistic freedom and The Guardian's liberal values, has turned its back on its heartland to keep The Guardian afloat."
It adds: "People close to the situation said it was unclear if the talks with Trinity Mirror were still underway or how far they had progressed."
