NUJ members at The Argus in Brighton have voted to ballot for action, following more proposed redundancies at the Newsquest title, Journalism.co.uk reports.
It says that according to the Argus NUJ chapel, Chris Chandler, editor of the Leader series and deputy editor of The Argus, was made redundant this fortnight, and two more redundancies are being proposed for the news subs.
The subbing team will be down from 11 to nine and staff will find out who is going on 30 December.
Earlier this year, three sub-editors positions - two part-time and one full-time - were axed. Argus management told Journalism.co.uk: "We do not comment on our company business."
