Scary thought at JEE Camp

There's been plenty of controversey over the newspaper-style council papers which are seen as a threat to the local press. But one of the delegates at the Journalism Enterprise and Experimentation "unconference" 09 in Birmingham raised a scarier propostion: "Supposing the BNP takes control of a council and its newspaper in the local elections?"

Shocking claim at JEE Camp

Most startling off the record claim at today's Journalism Enterprise and Experimentation "unconference" 09 in Birmingham came from an experienced editorial executive who has worked for many of the big regional newspaper groups.
He said one newspaper publisher has come up with a new way of making money. Charging people for work experience placements. Absolutely shocking, but he assures me it's true.
