Strange but true: The Sun engraved on grave

The Sun has a story today about a man who loved the paper so much that he has the Sun logo carved on his grave.

And Jimmy Pickett's family still deliver a copy of the Sun to his last resting place every day.

The Sun says: "Jimmy, who died aged 70, never went a day without reading The Sun. And relatives knew exactly how to pay a lasting tribute to him with the gilded engraving at Chelmsford cemetery, Essex. "

His granddaughter MaryLou, 22, reveals: "The Sun was the first thing he went out to get every morning and he'd spend the rest of the day telling us about what he'd read. The tomb carving was our way of remembering him. And we take the paper to his grave every day, just as he would have wanted."

The Sun can't resist the punning headline: 'Six Foot SunDER' and the cross head: 'Laid to Rest With the UK's Best.'

It's the way Jimmy would have wanted it.
