NUJ demo for Al Jazeera journalists held in Libya

NUJ members will demonstrate outside the Libyan embassy in London this week to demand the release of three colleagues from the Al Jazeera Network who were detained last month while covering the continuing conflict in Libya.

The NUJ is joining with journalists from Al Jazeera to stage the protest in support of correspondent Ahmad val ould Eddin and cameramen Ammar Al-Hamdan and Kamel Al Tallou. The trio were held in the northwest of Libya near Zintan and then imprisoned in Tripoli. The authorities there have not provided any information on why they are being held.

The demonstration on Thursday April 14 will take place between noon and 4.00 pm in front of the Libyan Embassy, 15 Knightsbridge SW1X 7LY.
