The industrial action ballot of BBC staff over pay and pensions closed at noon today.
The NUJ said: "The joint union negotiating team and BBC branch and chapel reps will now consider next steps in light of the ballot result before publicising both the ballot result and the joint unions next steps in the campaign to defend pensions."
The union added: "A strong ballot result will put your union negotiating team in a strong position when we meet with the BBC again over the coming weeks. It will send a clear message to the BBC that any alternative proposal must fully protect the value of pensions already earned - and that we have a strong mandate for industrial action, should they fail to do so."
