Guardian app on sale today


Guardian app is on sale today for £2.39p. I've bought it but still don't understand the economics.
I spent £2.20 down the newsagent today (Guardian, Independent and Sun). For 19p more I get loads of Guardian content for a one-off price. Do I still need to buy the paper? I probably will because I like newspapers, but the app isn't an incentive to buy the Guardian every day.
