CPJ: Journalists' death toll since 1992 is 758





















The Committe to Protect Journalists has launched a new section on its website listing all the journalists killed since 1992 and the circumstances of their death. According to the CPJ, more than 550 journalists have been murdered since 1992, with hundreds more killed in combat or on dangerous assignment. It says: "By focusing on unsolved murders, we intend to hold governments to account."
Iraq is named the deadliest country with 140 journalists killed.
