Lil Boyce at Haymarket has told me about two training schemes for journalists. One helps journalists learn new skills that could help them get jobs, and the other is to tackle barriers into journalism for young people.
Neither was initiated by Haymarket, but the company does have some involvement with each.

Roehampton University has secured funds for a training programme to help media industry workers find work. Haymarket editorial directors Mel Nichols and Dominic Mills helped advise the university about the course.
Catch 22 – Aims to help aspiring journalists from low-income families enter the industry.
For Catch 22, Haymarket Business Media and Haymarket Consumer Media have each taken on a bursary sponsorship – each involves giving a month’s placement to a student and contributing the costs of a student’s year in the Catch 22 programme. Other supporters of the scheme include Trinity Mirror and Condé Nast.
