It ain't news until it's in a national
Private Eye hack Adam Macqueen writes on his website that it has taken The Independent eight weeks to follow up his story about British children's authors having to register on a database - intended to protect children from paedophiles - before they can visit schools. Once the Indy splashed on authors boycotting the scheme this morning it was followed up by the BBC and other nationals.
