It’s about training citizens to report news for free; it’s about closing offices and sacking journalists – all in the name of advancing press freedom.<br />We have managed to develop a diverse and lively hyperlocal scene in this country without any ‘help’ from the established industry.<br />In fact we have thrived in spite of obstruction and opposition from councils and their business partners - the local press.<br />Journalism Foundation are so witless about new media their Twitter account doesn’t even link to their website ffs.<br />It’s not the hyperlocals that are in need of ‘help’.Stephen Slominskihttp://www.eastleighnews.org.uknoreply@blogger.com
