Private Eye doesn't see eye to i with Murdoch

Private Eye says Rupert Murdoch's Herald Sun in Melbourne intends to create a "multi-media investigations unit" which will publish muckraking stories and has the proposed name Private I.

The Eye knows this, it reports in its latest issue, because the Herald Sun's "general counsel" has written to the magazine as a "courtsey" and asked for confirmation by return email that it has no legal objection.

The Eye's response is a trenchant: "Fuck off, Rupert!"
