Rusbridger: 'I'm not Taliban of anti-charging'

Guardian-editor-in-chief Alan Rusbridger has been cast as an evangelist for keeping the web free as opposed to Rupert Murdoch and his plans to put up paywalls on his newspapers' online sites.
But speaking at the Paley Center for Media in New York yesterday he said there were niches within the Guardian that readers may be prepared to pay for as well as it being possible to charge more for content on mobiles.
"I'm open to anything," he said. "I'm not Taliban of anti-charging. I want my journalists to pay their mortgages to be rich, happy people...well, they are never going to be rich."
