Freddie Johnston to retire from JP board

Johnston Press will announces the retirement of Freddie Johnston, patriarch of the family that founded the group in 1767, after 51 years on the board, according to the Sunday Times.
It says the departure of Johnston, 75, will leave the owner of the Yorkshire Post and The Scotsman without a family representative on the board for the first time in 243 years. His son, Michael Johnston, is a divisional managing director in Scotland.
