Ross quits and saves Charles Moore from jail

It's probably not why he did it, but the decision by Jonathan Ross today to quit the BBC when his contract ends in July could have saved ex-Daily Telegraph editor and columnist Charles Moore from going to jail.
Moore in his Telegraph column was adamant that he would not pay his £142.50p BBC licence fee while Jonathan Ross was employed by the BBC - even if it meant being sent to prison - in a protest at the "Sachsgate" row over the obscene phone message left by Ross and Russell Brand on the actor Andrew Sach's answerphone.
