#newsrw: Greg Hadfield quits Telegraph

Greg Hadfield (pictured) has left the Telegraph Media Group, where he was appointed head of digital development last year, to join Brighton-based Cogapp, he revealed at the news rewired conference at City University today.
Hadfield, a former Sunday Times news editor and award winning Western Morning News reporter, was a pioneering editorial internet entrepreneur who founded Soccernet in 1995. The football website was sold to ESPN/Disney for £15m in 1999. He then created Schoolsnet, an education website which he sold in 2003.
Cogapp builds websites, interactive installations and mobile applications.  Its clients include Manchester United, the British Museum and the BBC and it has an office in New York.
Hadfield told the news rewired conference, organised by journalism.co.uk, that journalists needed to develop entrepreneurial skills and added: "the future is individual journalists, not big media."
